    PowerBridgeNY is a state-funded collaboration among six-leading academic institutions designed to commercialize emerging clean energy innovations from institutional research labs to create more and stronger energy businesses. PowerBridgeNY will grant a research team up to $150K to conduct 100 Customer Discovery Interviews and develop a prototype or conduct in-field testing to move their cleantech closer to commercialization!

    This year, new applicants to the program are eligible for a $1,000 gift certificate if they submit their idea by September 16 and are invited to submit a proposal. Researchers who are not sure if they are a good fit for the program or are not sure if their technology is “cleantech” are especially encouraged to apply.

    We are hosting a series of info sessions across the institutions in the month of September - join us to learn more about the programs!

The program provides financial incentives and other support to builders, developers, and homeowners to encourage the construction of new, energy-efficient solar homes. It has already helped boost the new home solar penetration rate in the state from less than 1 percent to more than 20 percent.
